Matthew Ruble, MD

Chief Medical Officer, Discovery Behavioral Health, parent company of Discovery Addiction Centers

Dr. Matthew Ruble is advancing behavioral health care by harnessing the power – and data – from tens of thousands of patient experiences to drive innovation in treatment and ultimately improve outcomes and lives.

As chief medical officer, Dr. Ruble is dedicated to education/training, research and collaboration among payers and providers. His collaboration with Mass General Brigham led to external, academic validation of Discovery’s clinical outcomes and national leadership in setting a new standard for measurement-based care.

Dr. Ruble works to elevate the needs of patients, providers and payers by decreasing barriers to care and prioritizing value while ensuring clinical quality.

Prior to joining Discovery, he served as national medical director at Humana and was part of the team that reviewed and advised Humana leadership on all behavioral health technology/innovations for potential investment/acquisition and implementation.

A former faculty member of Harvard Medical School for nearly 20 years, Dr. Ruble also served as the director of behavioral health and the associate training director for the Adult Psychiatry residency training program at the Cambridge Health Alliance.

Dr. Ruble earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. He completed an Infectious Disease research Fellowship at Brown University’s School of Medicine before completing his MD at the Carver School of Medicine at the University of Iowa.

He then attended Harvard Medical School to intern at the Department of Medicine and to complete his residency at the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Ruble became chief resident of psychopharmacology at Cambridge Health Alliance. He then completed his Fellowship in Medical Education at the Academy of Harvard Medical School.

Amy Durham, M. Ed.

CEO, Brookdale

Amy L. Durham brings a renewed vision to Brookdale, embodying the core values that set Brookdale apart – compassion, empathy and dedication. Amy has over 15 years of senior management experience in educational leadership, in addition to six years as corporate director of Caron Treatment Centers. Beyond her extensive background in operational oversight, strategic planning and organizational development, she holds a master’s degree from the University of Mississippi and is a woman in active long-term recovery.

Amy is passionate about reducing the stigma associated with substance use disorder and hopes to strengthen Brookdale’s relationships with other treatment providers and increase our national presence. Driven by the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to receive comprehensive, quality treatment, Amy continuously aims to elevate Brookdale’s standard of care through effective leadership and utilizing the most innovative, evidence-best practices.

 Alongside an innate ability to inspire and empower those she leads, Amy’s personal journey has resulted in an extraordinary capacity to connect and empathize with those struggling with addiction. “I was taught early on that I can’t keep it, if I don’t give it away.”

Her commitment has become the leading example for the Brookdale team and has been exemplified through the environment of healing she has created for our patients.

Outside of work, Amy enjoys reading, exercising, going to the beach and spending time with family and friends.

Phyllis Meagher, MBA

CEO, Casa Palmera

Phyllis is the regional CEO of Casa Palmera. Phyllis joined Casa Palmera in 2024, and brings with her more than 35 years of experience in the healthcare industry.

She started her career specializing in substance use and eating disorders, gaining experience and advancing to chief executive officer leadership roles. She has held leadership positions in both healthcare facilities and health plans across multiple locations and states. Phyllis has served in a wide range of executive roles in psychiatric hospitals, residential facilities, manage care companies and medical groups.

She prides herself on her management style, which she has honed throughout her career by working closely with individuals of all academic backgrounds and life experiences. Her goal as a leader is to mentor and encourage her team to reach deep within themselves to make the most of their gifts and talents when helping individuals find recovery from substance use and co-occurring disorders.

“It is an amazing gift to see patients and families whose lives have been negatively affected by substance abuse or behavioral health concerns finding recovery, leading productive lives and giving back to their communities,” said Phyllis. “It is difficult but rewarding work we do, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of that process.”

Kelly Stephenson

CEO, Cliffside Malibu

Kelly Stephenson, CEO of Cliffside Malibu, began her career in 2002 working in the health and human services field with mentally ill and substance dependent women.

In 2007, after studying business administration at Ferris State University, Kelly made the decision to move from Michigan to California to pursue a career in an industry she was passionate about. She has worked in the substance use disorder field for over 15 years, helping patients achieve long-term sobriety and ensuring best practices and highest standards are met in all areas of patient care.

Kelly’s passion and life’s work are in sync. She has a career she loves, leading staff and working with patients, all while increasing Cliffside Malibu’s national presence. She has been with Cliffside Malibu since 2015, starting as the COO and transitioning to CEO in July 2018. She thoroughly enjoys her role and is excited for the future of Cliffside and its patients.

Dane Fisher, MA, CADC-I

COO, Cliffside West Los Angeles

Dane has worked at Cliffside since October of 2014. Dane completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California and holds a master’s degree from Columbia University.

Dane is a certified drug and alcohol counselor (CADC-I) and oversees several departments responsible for patient care including nursing, residential advising, and aftercare and alumni coordination.

Dane is an avid traveler and enjoys taking Japanese language classes in his free time. 

Steven Kelly

Executive Director, New Hope Ranch

An accomplished CEO with 34 years of experience in behavioral healthcare, Steve Kelly brings expertise in leadership, clinical care and operational management.

With 21 years in senior management and nine years in sales, he has built a reputation as a visionary leader committed to transforming healthcare services and improving outcomes for both patients and organizations. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Louisiana State University and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Prior to joining New Hope Ranch, Steve served as CEO at Austin Oaks Hospital, where he successfully launched innovative programs, mentored high-performance teams, and cultivated a culture of accountability and excellence. His approach integrates strategic planning with a focus on clinical success, consistently driving and optimizing operational performance.

At New Hope Ranch, he is dedicated to enhancing patient care by fostering an environment of excellence.

His passion for transforming behavioral healthcare continues to guide his work, as he leads the organization in its mission to provide exceptional care and outcomes.

Anna Gaddy

CEO, PARC

Since February 2025, Anna has been working in various roles at PARC (Prevention and Recovery Center) in Houston, Texas. Currently, she is the CEO of the well-regarded program.

Anna has worked in the field of behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment for 35 years in numerous positions, including CEO, CQO and director of treatment services.

Anna’s passion is to help people get their lives back in order and to live a fulfilling life in recovery. When Anna is not at work, she appreciates spending time with her family and her pets, enjoys sports and traveling to different places. 

Casey Castronova, LCSW, LCADC

CEO, Pinelands

Casey has worked in addiction treatment since 2010 in several capacities. She started in the field as a primary therapist gaining experience working with adolescents and adults in detox, residential, partial care and intensive outpatient settings. Casey has worked at Pinelands Recovery Center since its opening in 2014 as a therapist; she later became the clinical director and is now the CEO.

Since entering her administrative roles, Casey’s focus has been on offering and delivering quality programming, as well as professional development. She utilizes a strengths-based, person-centered approach in her supervision of the team at Pinelands, ensuring that the programs and staff reach their maximum potential to best serve our patients.

Casey is a licensed clinical social worker, as well as a licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor. She received her master’s in social work degree from Monmouth University with a concentration in Clinical Practice with Children and Families.

She is an approved clinical supervisor by the New Jersey Board of Social Workers. Casey is proud to bring her immense clinical expertise to help Pinelands continue to support the needs of patients and their families in New Jersey and throughout the northeast region.

Matt Ehler

CEO, Prosperity Wellness Center

Matt is the CEO at Prosperity Wellness Center and has been working in the behavioral health system for 17 years in a variety of settings, particularly in improving and expanding service delivery. Across several states in the western U.S., Matt’s experience has ranged from leading community-based treatment teams to involuntary acute inpatient to a state reviewer of mental health agencies.

Opportunities to learn new skills, problem solve and find new ways forward keeps Matt energized. A joy for problem solving, along with collaboration and seeking common ground, are the skills Matt likes to bring to any situation.

Matt states: “I believe every individual in the work environment is a key piece to the puzzle and to the success of reaching any goal. To that end, I seek to cultivate an environment in which everyone is treated with kindness and respect, encouraging the authentic expression of everyone. My favorite quote is from Oscar Wilde, who encourages us by sharing: ‘Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.’”
